As the payments industry continues to move forward at an exponential rate, Marius Jurgilas, Board Member, Bank of Lithuania will explore the innovations and advancements taking place currently in the industry. Most importantly, he will be highlighting the opportunities that are arising from the changing industry and the beneficial collaborations to be made.
 
Marius will also share his insights on the panel discussions “Spotlight on the unintended after-effects of upcoming regulations” and “Challenges & Opportunities: What will Brexit look like for the payments industry?”, as the Bank of Lithuania continues to invest heavily in financial innovation.
 
Prior to joining the Bank of Lithuania, Marius Jurgilas worked as a researcher at the European Central Bank, an economist at the central banks of Norway and England, and gained academic experience in the US. As a Member of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, he is in charge of payments services and their development, FinTech, research and cash, as well as units performing related functions. To address related issues, Marius participates in meetings of the ECB Governing Council and committees, scientific conferences, as well as representing the central bank of the Republic of Lithuania at various international economic conferences and organisations.
