Robert Courtneidge is the Firm's Global Head of Cards and Payments. Robert is noted for his knowledge and experience in the e-money area. He has more than 25 years of experience in the cards and payment systems and is skilled in all aspects of consumer finance issues, including consumer protection, banking regulation and compliance and data protection. Robert works closely with The Payments Services Regulator, HM Treasury and the Financial Conduct Association and other compliance and industry bodies to ensure compliance for his clients. He places special emphasis on working with high tech industries and products in the financial services industry, embracing new technological and legislative/regulatory developments. In January 2015 Estelle BRACK has taken up her current position as Program Director for Payments for the second largest French Bank, BPCE (Banques Populaires – Caisses d’Epargne). From 2006 to 2013 she was Deputy Director for European and International Affairs at the French Banking Federation, as Senior Adviser for International Affairs and Senior Economist. She held the Chair of the Statistics Working Group of the European Banking Federation from 2009 to 2013 and was as well a Member of the International Affairs and the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committees. In 2000 she joined the Head Office of Banque Populaire Group in Paris as project manager in charge of implementing and supervising the introduction of coins and banknotes in euro (as well as the taking out of circulation of the ancient French franc). After 2002, she was in charge of strategic projects and inter-banking relations for card payments and electronic money. She was a temporary lecturer at the University Paris-II Pantheon-Assas during 1997–1999, teaching macro-, micro- and development-economics, and started her professional carrier in 1999, as Director of strategic studies at KSM. She is also Senior Lecturer at the University Paris-II Pantheon-Assas and at iReMMO. She has written two books “Arab Banking and Financial Systems : Towards a Single Model ?” in March 2012 and “The Mutations of the Banking and Financial Sector in Africa” in March 2016 (in French, L’Harmattan ed), as well as many papers and articles in banking and development economics. She is a regular contributor for African Banker and African Business. She is member of the OECD-MENA Women's Business Forum. In his current position, Rui Pimentel heads a team mainly involved in the analysis of developments in retail payment systems, contributing for Banco de Portugal's mission in this domain. Rui joined Banco de Portugal in 1997 and over the last few years he's been significantly involved in the implementation of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), as well as focusing on innovation and security issues in the field of retail payments. In this context, Rui takes part in several working groups dealing with retail payments, both national and international, e.g. at ECB/Eurosystem and European Commission level. Among others, he's a member of the European Forum on the Security of Retail Payments (SecuRe Pay). As a result of these functions, Rui has taken regular part in conferences and seminars, as well as in co-operation projects with other Central Banks with involvement in either regulatory and in catalyst/policymaker-oriented activities.

During this time, he served with Strathclyde Police, Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and, since 2013, with the reorganisation of policing in Scotland into a national force, Police Scotland. With over 16 years cyber security experience, Robert has established and managed security operations center for both the UK government and large multinational organizations. He is an experienced and proven leader with many years’ experience of briefing senior management, and well versed both in proactively defending against cyber threats, and managing the aftermath when things have gone wrong. As deputy head of the UK Government’s Cyber Security Operations Centre, Robert played a key role in preparations for the London Olympics where he led the development of incident response measures and was responsible for the cyber exercise program. Robert’s cyber security career started at UBS where he undertook risk assessments and architecture reviews. Francisco joined the European Monetary Institute, the forerunner of the European Central Bank, in May 1995. Francisco participated in the development of the TARGET system (the Real Time Gross Settlement system for the euro). Since June 2005 he has been working in the Market Integration Division in the Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments of the European Central Bank. With almost 20 years of experience in Market Infrastructures, as Deputy Head of Division Francisco conducts policy work aiming for further harmonisation and integration of payments at European and global level, including clearing and settlement. Francisco holds a master’s degree in computer science from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain).

Megan is Director of Marketplace Platform at Starling Bank, where she leads API Strategy, partnerships and the development of the Marketplace Platform. Starling Bank is a leading challenger bank in the UK that was founded in 2014 by Anne Boden, former COO of Allied Irish Bank. In 2015 they raised $70 million in their first round of funding and received their official banking license. Prior to Starling, Megan worked in technology in San Francisco, having led product development at Intuit and Xero, two of the world's largest financial technology companies. Megan holds five patents in financial technology, and regularly writes and speaks on the subject. She is now residing in the UK on a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa, recognised for her work in digital technology.
